Junior Studio- Field Guide

This assignment allowed me to explore some of my forgotten hobbies, like my love for dogs. I decided to create a field guide that allowed the reader to learn what kind of dogs are found on town lake during a Saturday morning. My conclusion is that most dogs out there are mutts. I went further and decided to create a second section that allowed the reader to compare the mixed breed dog to its pedigree version.

Interaction Design - Order Kiosk

As a group we had to create a Sandy's Burgers' Kiosk. A kiosk is a touchscreen machine that can be used to order food. Sandy's is an Austin favorite. We decided to keep the logo similar to the real logo. Also the colors we used were inspired by the background, which is a photo of a a burger wrapper. This project was the first group project ever assigned to us. I enjoyed the project but felt it would have gone a lot smoother if we worked alone.

Graphic Design III- Locating Place

I was required to go to East side Austin, take pictures, and come up with a concept. The concept I choice was gentrification. I felt that a lot of the culture on East Side was dissolving due to the new generation of tenants who are trying to move in. Not only is the culture vanishing but old tenants are forced to leave due to the raise in property taxes. I enjoyed this project but am not satisfied with my crafting skills. I plan on reprinting the book and saddle stitching it again so the outcome looks cleaner. The book does not look like a typical book, it opens left to right as well as right to left. The slash in the center of both pages is supposed to represent the clash between the two societies that are forced to live in one neighborhood. Image Three is a spread from the left side of the book and Image Four is from the right side.
